Her commissions range in size from a residence in Chevy Chase, Maryland, to a second home on the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington state, to a historic luxury inn on the gulf coast of Florida.

Her interior design business was put on hold until 2009, when she concluded her public service. In October of 2009, Amy Zantzinger Interior Design reopened for business.
From 1994 to 1998, Amy Zantzinger was a designer with Barbara Scavullo Design in San Francisco. Ms. Zantzinger holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Academy of Art College in San Francisco and a Bachelor of Arts from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She is a native of San Diego. Amy and her husband Richard Zantzinger reside in Chevy Chase, Maryland with their two children and the family dog.
